Many Thanks To Our Clinicians
In order to have a great workshop you must have great clinicians who are skilled in the area of their profession and willing to share those skills with others. We have been very fortunate at the gospel songwriters Music workshop to have such a group of people assembled to work with our attendees throughout the years. As the workshop has grown and expanded, we have always been able to maintain a core group of experts who provide a consistent level of information that never ceases to amaze the workshop attendees. Each year that we have presented this workshop we have endeavored to provide quality information in a timely manner and make it easy for the young as well as the old to enjoy. If you have never taken the time to attend one of our workshops, then make plans to attend because it will change your life and broaden your knowledge as you learn and teach others who have the same interest as you in the art of music. Dynamic Duo This year is no exception because we have been able to maintain our “Dynamic Duo” for songwriting at our 2011 workshop. Sister Yvonne Reed-Matthews is a talented singer, songwriter, musician and instructor. Her credits include: Educator, choral instructor, recording artist, Principal, etc. Pastor O’Neal Porter is a Singer, songwriter, playwrite, author and pastor. This dynamic duo hails from Mobile, Alabama and has been with the workshop since its inception. They continue to astonish and amaze everyone who attends their class by providing fresh insight and up-to-date knowledge in the area of songwriting. It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or a veteran songwriter they have something that will help you advance your God given gift. Every participant receives information on copyrighting, publishing, production, and much, much more. You won’t find a workshop like this one anywhere but at the gospel songwriters Music Workshop. If you missed the class on this year, then plan to be there on next year, it will be even better; if that is possible. Dr. Joel Johnson A newcomer to the workshop this year is Dr. Joel Johnson, music Professor at North Florida Community College, Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Johnson is a skilled and professional guitarist who will be heading up our Musicians Class. He is well versed in the area of music education and will bring a fresh and exciting perspective to our music class attendees. Dr. Johnson brings many years of experience on topics such as: Music Merchandising Practices, Music Technology, Management, Booking & Tour Management, Hard Disk Recording, Music Theory, Jazz Harmony & Improvisation. History of Commercial Music in the U.S., History of Afro-American Music, Music Appreciation. The aforementioned are just a few of Dr. Johnson’s accomplishments, but I think you get the picture that this is going to be an exciting class for every musician who attends. If you miss it, you’ll have to wait until next year to see what all the excitement is all about. Minister Robert Brown Minister Robert Brown is not a newcomer to the Gospel Songwriters Music workshop, but he has been around for over 9 years and has provided his musical expertise as a skilled drummer, base player, songwriter and recording studio owner. His recording studio, J.Ssentric Entertainment has been used by many professional and amateur singers and musicians alike. Minister Brown has a wealth of knowledge and experience that makes him a perfect candidate to work with our Musicians Class as well. He also conducts several of our early morning seminars that are well worth getting up early to attend. Sister Deborah Butler Brown Sister Deborah Butler-Brown is a beautiful and graceful dancer who will be working with our Praise Dance Class this year. She is not only a wonderful dancer, but she is also a singer with a strong family background in music. Sister Brown comes to the Gospel Songwriters Music workshop with experience in choreography, African Dance, Praise Dance and other visual art expertise. She is also the founder of The Women of Praise Dance Ministry. She has worked with young and old alike and will bring energy and enthusiasm to all who participate in her Praise Dance Class. If your church has a praise team, then you will want to get involved in our Praise Dance class with Sister Brown because she is sure to bring out the best in what you already know and add to the knowledge you already have. Deacon Steven Conage Last but not least is Deacon Steven Conage. Deacon Conage is a wonderful musician who has given his talents and skills to the Lord in order to become the fabulous musician he is today. Deacon Conage started his music journey as a saxophonist, but transferred his music knowledge to the piano and organ. He is also a singer who has worked with his local church choir, Queen Street Church of God in Christ as well as with the district Choir of the Greater Tampa district of the Churches of God in Christ. Deacon Conage will be working with our Workshop choir and it should not be any surprise that anyone who participates in the choir will have something good to take back to their home church choir, praise team or group. |
